ACV tonic & good health
There are so many fads surrounding the health industry, promising/promoting insane weight loss with no exercise or diet changes required, and most of us take that marketing with a grain of salt. But there IS a bunch of material supporting apple cider vinegar as an aide to weight loss, and we wanted to talk about it! There is certainly science to support a lot of it, but we felt like we should wade through some of this evidence to help you understand how to use ACV tonics in safe and beneficial ways, to get healthier.
Firstly, ACV is known to balance blood sugar levels, altering the ratio of the fat storage and fat burning hormones in the body, reducing the ratio of insulin to glucagon, which favors fat burning. Apples are a great source of potassium and, likewise, apple cider vinegar, taken on a regular basis, will contribute the potassium you need to help balance the sodium in your diet. In fact, try replacing salt in your diet with apple cider vinegar. Use it to top foods you might be tempted to salt, such as vegetables or protein foods - we use our ACV tonics as a salad dressing all the time, with all those yummy infused elements giving it a tasty flavour, without any added sugars, salts or preservatives.
